Chapter 3 - Advertising

3.1 Premium Ads

Premium ads offer a no-cost alternative to the detailed listings feature available to registered Point2 Manager members. Premium ads include a subset of the information provided in detailed listings as well as photographs.

To create a Premium Ad:
  1. Log in to MyUsedIron.
  2. Click the Create Premium Ad link.
  3. Fill in the form provided with the appropriate information.
  4. Click Continue to submit your ad.
    or
  5. Click Cancel to close the Premium Ad editor without creating an ad.

Note: Premium ad listings are moderated, so a new listing will not immediately appear on the Point2 UsedIron website. Premium ad listings which have been approved by a Point2 moderator will appear on the site within one working day.

Details
Type *
Use the drop-down list to select the equipment type.
Manufacturer *
Use the drop-down list to select the manufacturer of the equipment.
Country *
Use the dropdown to select a country.
Province/State *
Use the dropdown to select a state/province. Note: This list will not be populated until Country is selected.
Model
Enter the model of the equipment.
Year
Enter the year in which the equipment was manufactured; use four-digit format (e.g., 1985, 2002).
Unit #
Enter the unit number of the equipment.
Serial #
Enter the serial number of the equipment
Hours
Enter the number of hours this equipment has been used; do not include commas, decimals, or units of time (e.g., enter 1800 instead of 1,800 hrs.).
Status
Use the dropdown to indicate the status of the equipment (e.g., New, Used)
Price
Enter a selling price of for the equipment. Enter only numbers; do not include punctuation such as dollar signs, commas, or decimal points (e.g., enter 87500 instead of $ 87,500.00).
Currency
Use the drop-down list to set the currency type for the Price.
Notes
Use this space to provide additional details about the equipment you require.
Features
Use this space to add up to 12 featues.
Conditions
Check all that might apply to your equipment.
Photos
You can add up to 8 photos of your equipment.

To edit a Premium Ad:
  1. Log in to MyUsedIron.
  2. Click the Manage My Premium Ads link.
  3. Click Edit to select the ad you want to modify.
  4. Use the form provided to edit the ad.
  5. Click Update.

To delete a Premium Ad:
  1. Log in to MyUsedIron.
  2. Click the Manage My Premium Ads link.
  3. Click Delete beside the Premium Ad you wish to remove.

To renew a Premium Ad:
When your Premium Ad is recently expired or close to it's expiry date, you will have the option or renewing for another 30 days.
  1. Log in to MyUsedIron.
  2. Click the Manage My Premium Ads link.

3.2 Want Ads

If you are looking for a piece of equipment to round out your inventory or handle a specific job, Point2 UsedIron's Want Ad feature can help you find what you are looking for and even get sellers to come to you. After approval by a Point2 moderator, Want Ads are immediately e-mailed to Point2 Manager clients. Approximately 48 hours after the initial e-mailing, they are forwarded to hundreds more equipment sellers worldwide and shown on Point2 UsedIron.

To create a Want Ad:
  1. Log in to MyUsedIron.
  2. Click the Create Want Ad link.
  3. Fill in the form provided with the appropriate information.
  4. Click Create Ad to submit your ad.
    or
  5. Click Cancel to close the Want Ad editor without creating an ad.

Details
Type *
Use the drop-down list to select a type of the equipment.
Manufacturer
Use the drop-down list to select the manufacturer of the equipment.
Model
Enter the model of the equipment.
Year Low/High
Use the drop-down lists to set a range for the model year of the equipment.
Price
Enter the maximum price you are willing to pay for the equipment. Enter only numbers; do not include punctuation such as dollar signs, commas, or decimal points (e.g., enter 87500 instead of $ 87,500.00).
Currency
Use the drop-down list to set the currency type for the Price Limit.
Notes
Use this space to provide additional details about the equipment you require.

Note: Want Ads are moderated, so a new request will not immediately appear on Point2 Exchange. Want Ads which have been approved by a Point2 moderator will appear on the site within one working day.

To edit a want ad:
  1. Log in to MyUsedIron.
  2. Click the Manage My Want Ads link.
  3. Click Edit to select the ad you want to modify.
  4. Use the form provided to edit the ad.
  5. Click Update Ad.

To delete a want ad:
  1. Log in to MyUsedIron.
  2. Click the Manage My Want Ads link.
  3. Click Delete beside the Want Ad you wish to remove.
